Isdaan branches out in Calauan, Laguna

Here is another treat for you, after last week’s blog of Pamana Restaurant in Tagaytay, here is another Barrio Fiesta group of Companies food chain in Laguna. This is not Egypt, or what you think would be a shot taken from another country. This is the a huge 30-foot structure that will welcome you once you reach their very spacious parking space.

Me with Vic and our families, on 2 separate cars leave Makati searching for this place with the Garmin GPS. Unfortunately, my last update was Christmas just in time this restaurant had a soft opening so this is not yet found. Luckily we go to Pila almost every weekend so I am familiar of this place. After a relaxing cruising speed of 80-100KPH, exiting at Calamba and taking Turbina shortcut, we arrived the place safely in 90 minutes. Upon seeing the monolith structure, there are a lot more you can see in this family theme park restaurant.

Then you will be amazed how this structures got here. The place is just simply amazing. The first images are like icons if not ancient time Gods that give prosperity for aquatic life. A lady icon with a fishtail, A male worker and troops with fishlike canon watervases, then lovely maidens with fish fountains and a fish-tower. But this is not the exciting part yet.

There are also different Buddhas and Icons like a Golden Image like the one I saw in Thailand. Aside from that, an astronaut Ape, a gigantic ape maybe 6-storeys high, makes you feel you are in the set of “Planet of the Apes”.

Here is an image of a Red Buddha that you need to hold the right hand before sounding the bell for GOOD LUCK and prosperity.

An icon with his hands in a praying position.

Another dark chocolate-green and gold Icon playing the Sitar.

A White Buddha with an open palm symbolizing PEACE (top) and a Golden Icon (below).

A Golden Monk pointing his finger up in the sky with a smiling face.

Planet of the Apes Astronaut (top) and smiling praying Buddhas (bottom).

A giant ape overlooking the whole fishtown shot in 4 different angles and time lapses.

After about an hour taking pictures at the park, we feel our bellies growling. It was getting dark and we settled by our long table to make our orders. Fortunately, the rain came pouring hard.

The food came in a bit later than we expected and the cold air cooled the food fast so we had to eat faster. The plates are native with banana leaves and we ordered filipino foods. We ordered Adobo that has a twist, it was tender and juicy with a little sweetness. A seafood plate with tilapia, bangus and tahong, inihaw na manok, sinigang na hipon and bulalo (this one i will not suggest that you order as we were served with a very big bone only).

After a hearty dinner, we checked the bill. It’s not that expensive as we expected it to be, but also the food did not come that great as i thought it would be. So it’s just fair as we might saw, it’s the ambiance that we went there for.

We wanted to take more pictures of the place, the rain did not allow us and I would not like my lens to be soaked in water. We just spent a few more hundreds with the greek custom of breaking plates. Then we headed back to Manila since it was past 8 o’clock in the evening already.

It was late and we grew tired and had to drive back with a wet road, we could not drive fast. Kudos to the Barrio Fiesta group for a very nice place and a belated happy birthday to you Ellen. Wishing you all the best, God Bless!
