How about a lunch treat at Pamana?

Published by in Food, Travel on February 16th, 2012

One hot weekend, me and my friends decided to have lunch in Tagaytay city to get away from the blazing heat of the sun here in Metro Manila. Cruising along Southsuper Highway, we took the Eton Greenfield exit and thriving along the inner roads of Cavite going up to Tagaytay. After about 30 minutes due to our hasty driver, we reach the top of Tagaytay and proceeding to Silang, Mendez.

By the road we see this restaurant PAMANA, who is situated by the ridge and has ample parking space. Here we started to feel the chillin’ breeze. At first, i came down the vehicle just wearing my shirt and jeans hoping to withstand the cold. Then as i come in the restaurant, i rushed to the top. Here it is roofed but there are no walls to protect you from the four strong winds at all angles.

Wow, are there small blades or spikes in the air? Just staying for 3 minutes and i go back down. We ordered the rare MALIPUTO fish that is said to be abundant in Batangas ports only especially in Taal Lake. Together with it is binagoongan rice and adobo rice and BAGNET, an ilocano delicacy. As the food is served, we dined in pleasure. Thanks for the boiling soup of MALIPUTO as it warmed my freezing hands. This is my alibi for not taking the pictures of the food.

Then we proceed in the walled area since the wind was blowing real hard now. Here is what you see, antique tables and lamps, mirrors on the wall, and figures of old.

I remember my grandfather with his Reader’s Digest collections, an old Graham Bell first release of the Telephone, and some unique artifacts like an antique radio and a watering vase.

Then it’s time for dessert. Here’s a chocolatey concoction with espasol, puto, bibingka, and different rice cake delicacies in fondue.

What i can say is, it was worth the while getting away the Metropolis and travelling that far for this fun-filled experience.

And lastly, who could resist not noticing this timeline like on this wall!
